“Rainbows remind us that even after the darkest clouds, and the fiercest winds, there is still beauty.” – Katrina Mayer
On August 22nd, Owlet and parents across the country recognize National Rainbow Baby Day. This day acknowledges those who’ve experienced pregnancy or infant loss and went on to welcome another baby. The term “rainbow baby” is a beautiful expression of the joy these miracle babies bring as they enter the world. While the child previously lost is never forgotten and is forever part of the family, rainbow babies are like the rays of light after a storm.
“It’s okay (to) feel overwhelmed with emotions by the birth of your rainbow baby. You can feel sadden(ed) by your loss and overjoyed by your little miracle. You are allowed to feel both.” – Unknown
We want to join families of rainbow babies in honoring their little rays of light after weathering an unthinkably dark storm. We see you. We know the pain is real. And we recognize the immeasurable strength of rainbow baby parents and their miraculous little ones.
“When a rainbow appears, it doesn’t mean the storm never existed or that you are not still dealing with its impact. It means something beautiful has appeared amid the darkness as a sign of hope for what’s yet to come.” – Unknown
In honor of rainbow babies and families everywhere, we released a NEW Rainbow Daze fabric sock in the Sock Shop. With vibrant, abstract rainbows, this cute sock will have your little rainbow baby ready for bedtime, while serving as a colorful reminder of just how precious they are.
